How Can A Franchise Broker Help You
How can a Franchise Broker help you in your search for the right franchise for you? My approach to this is a little different from the normal Franchise Broker. I believe that even with all my wisdom about franchising that I cannot tell an individual which, if any, of the franchise we have available are the perfect fit for them. Stop and think about that for a minute. How can I tell if a franchise is right for a individual when that individual has been in construction for 20 years and when I mention a construction franchise thy tell me that they have no interest in construction businesses. Logic would tell you that the franchise in which that person would be the most successful would be in the construction industry. They have the most experience and knowledge in that industry which should be valuable in making their franchise very successful. I hear this a lot as people leave industries that have been hardest hit by the recession. So, now what do we do for them? My approach is to first look at industries that are doing well and should continue to do well in the next 5 to 10+ years. Of course there are no guarantees on what the future will bring but there are lots of very smart people who do projections and lots of data that can be of some help as we do our research. The next step is to look at the franchises that are in those industries and then find the ones that we can add to or list of franchise that we can present. I do not pick one franchise over another for an individual. I present each franchise by talking about the industry that they are in and then the franchise and how they work within that industry. I also explain the investment requirement for each franchise. If, during the presentation someone sees a franchise that we have discussed that is of interest to him/her, then I will have that franchisor contact him/her. The Franchisor will provide much more detailed information and answer questions about their franchise. I get asked many times which franchise is the “best franchise”. This is a very personal thing each individual has their own requirements for a business. It is not one over another; it is whether the franchise meets your own personal and financial goals and if you can you become enthusiastic about the franchise. This is where an individual has to do his/her own due diligence to be sure it is the right franchise for him/her.
